This is really sweet! My son's favorite color is orange too and was actually the first color word he said.
Rebecca My youngest son's favorite color was orange when he was little. I have a photo of him on his first day of kindergarten wearing all orange from his shoes on up.
He was born on Halloween and so I think he has always had an affinity to orange due to pumpkins. He used to associate pumpkins with his birthday coming up and for a few years he called the color orange: "Happy Day".
Yay for Pooh Bear!
Speattle Maybe it's something about an October birthday and the orange- my son was born mid October. I love that your son went off to kindergarten in all orange. That's a pretty fun memory I'm sure, and "happy day" pretty much does sum up the color nicely!
Oh, the blue variegated thread I used in the frame around Pooh is some thread I bought over 30 years ago when I first started to do free-hand embroidery. It is still good after all these years! I have a small collection of my original embroidery threads from those days. Now, I mostly do machine embroidery, but I like to remember my "roots".
Ha! That's great!
