Description

I am soooooo thrilled. Did my very first paper piecing today. Started by doing one square from the post Rebecca (thank you) included for us under tips. That went well so I figured I would just jump into it and try the Polar Bear and it came out just fine. Only had to use that seam ripper thing twice. I really liked doing the paper piecing, something I have always been afraid of to try. I stop at this point because I can't decide if I want to make it a pillow or a wall hanging. I gave it a pink scarf since I wanted it to be a girl bear.

Well, she became a pillow. I used larger red and white polka dot for the back. This is my first pillow and I just love it.

How sweet. Love your girly fabric choices!

Quilt455

jbr, thank you.
Carolmarie, please give paper piecing a try. I have been so "SCARED" to try it and I actually totally enjoyed myself. Rebecca posted a tutorial on it which I did one block that was very simple but I am glad I did it since it explains more then what is in the book for this project. I did use more fabric then

Quilt455

OOPS, pushed a wrong button. Anyways, I did use more fabric then I think I would have used if I had some experience but that will come with time. I know you can do this!

Terryt1955

So adorable!!! And with the pink border it sure is looking like a pillow to me AND just in time for Valentines Day. Great job on the paper piecing~ I have a feeling you are now a convert and we'll be seeing more PP projects!

Terryt1955

Just wanted to add that the book should have used your pictures. They are so much more helpful than what they showed!

Laweigel

So cute and you did a great job!

Vwgirl

Wow-your piecing is perfect! I just got the book and am going to try it this week :) Hopefully mine will turn out as well as yours!

Conniharns

Aw Cathie...this came out adorable!! Fun to see everyone's personality on this polar bear project! They are all so different and full of cuteness! Glad you are a paper piecing pro now! :)

Whatthebobbin

Adorable!

Sewzalot

I just love it in Red and Pink. Great job!! Sooo cute!!!

True

Love yours and welcome to the world of paper piecing! I just love it and it is so much easier than we think it will be...

Quilt455

Lawegel, Vwgirl, whatthebobbin, sewzalot thanks so much. I do not think she would have turned out if I hadn't done a block from Rebecca's post first.
Terryt: Thanks, I am starting to lean towards her being a pillow too.
True: I am with you. I loved this process. I wish I had tried it years ago.

Mymble

LOve the pink spin on this- just in time for Feb. 14th:)))) hearts heart

Quilt455

Miss Conni, I am far from a pro but I did enjoy it. Can't wait to see how yours turns out.

Thanks Mymble. I just love the color pink so I use it alot

Caribousmom

Love that red fabric that looks like snow! You did such a great job on this one, Cathie - can't wait to see what you decide to do with it :)

Quilt455

Thank you Miss Wendy. I sure enjoyed myself with this one. I think "she" is going to be a pillow after all. Going to decide by the weekend.

Aprilc

this is adorable! I like the fabrics you chose. can't beat a polka dot:)

Quilt455

Aprilc Thank you. I use lots and lots of polka dots, just totally love them

Terryt1955

A perfect pillow if I should say so myself. I approve !!!!

Quilt455

Thanks Terryt, I had so much fun making her. Am looking forward to the next project. Have you decided if you are going to do the tree or heart? I am going to do the tree since I never even noticed the heart and enlarged the tree already when I had the bear done. But that is fine, may be I will do the heart sometime later.

Caribousmom

Hey, you DID decide on a pillow! I love it! So stinkin' cute!

Quilt455

Thanks my friend. She was so much fun to make. Might make a twin at some point.

Mary
