Description

This is a strip quilt for a good friend of mine who is having a baby in March. I haven't quilted it yet (hence the lines) and am trying to decide what color binding to use. I'm thinking of using a pink to match the initials of the baby that I embroidered on there...not sure though...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Want to make some of the colors pop on the quilt, but I'm afraid that pink will totally clash with the red fabric...hmmmm....
Will update photos as I make progress

Finished! Yay! This was my first attempt at making my own binding and I'm so pleased with how easy it was and nicely it came out. Thanks for the suggestions!

I have never done a striped quilt but I really like the looks of yours so at some point may give it a try. Love the balloon fabric.

Thanks so much! I'm newer to quilting, and so at the moment, straight, easy lines work for me (-: ha!
I love the fabrics so much on this quilt, I might have to make a few pillow covers out of the scraps for my little girl's bedroom (-:

What a cute quilt. It is always hard to tell in pictures real colors but it looks from here like a pink binding would look great. It is not like it would be next to the red all that much due to how the quilt is made. Also could do a scrappy binding from all or some of left over fabrics...but pink might make colors pop more.

That is what I was thinking - thanks for your advice - I really appreciate it! Thanks so much! (-:

Great binding! Really like how you used a stitch within the binding as well:-)
