Description

So, these are my first quilts. Let's head back to the '90s... The American Flag quilt was copied in 1990 from a catalog and all pieces were cut out with a pair of scissors which took. forever. I had no idea what a rotary cutter was. The yellow blocks were stamped with fabric paint and a star stamp I got in Santa Barbara (so stencil-y and creative!). And, each star is hand-tied with red wool...no other quilting, LOL! I also made that bed skirt from ticking fabric...so '90s and Country! The School House quilt was made in 1994 and was my first attempt at hand quilting. I believe I actually cried over how bad & difficult is was to hand quilt! I still have both quilts, plus a lot of cross stitch. Waiting to become antiques.

These are both really cool. Yes, my first quilt, queen size was cut out with scissors also and I did HST for every 4 inch block. Oh my gosh, I had to have been crazy. I do love the yellow star, what a great idea. The house one is just cool.
