Description

When I threw my daughter her baby shower we included in the invitation a request to bring a 10"square block that would be turned into a quilt. I was in the middle of making my very first quilt so I didn't assume I would be the one piecing the top, quilting it and binding it. Surely one of the more experienced quilters would step forward? HA! I screwed up the sashings right off the bat by cutting them 1/2 " too short (what's a seam allowance) and when squaring up the blocks I wasn't the best at keeping things centered. I ended up making 12 of the blocks all characterized by a very heavy satin stitch for the applique just because I didn't know any better. I also didn't know about cutting out some of the fusible interfacing so my blocks are pretty stiff! Oh well, it was designed to be thrown on the floor to let the baby roll around on it without getting a mouth full of dog hair.

Thanks True and Laweigel . I should photograph all my quilts with the baby and the lab. They are both so adorable together.

Thanks Readerowl and Charwirfs for your kind words!
