Description

This is the block I have chosen as Queen for February it is the Mod Nine Patch by +dontcallmebetsy.

Blocks I have received so far...I am loving them. They are taped to my sewing room wall so I can see them all the time!

Got two more blocks yesterday and today!  Now have blocks from:
+Allpatchedup
+Curt
+Quilbee
+Juline
+existitchialism
+Tracy
+Okle
+Kathie
+Linbur0100
+saruqa
+ladyreed

I am Queen this month for Hive #1 and used same block so I will have an entire quilt made by fellow threaders!  So far I have block from:
+Readerowl
+Rebeccajeffsmith
+Terryt1955
+Allpatchedup
+Thesewingchick
+Strandkorbtraum
+creamcity
+kat
+Quiltnwool
+Sarah

I also got a gift of blocks from +Hawkfan!  I do not have them all up at moment but when get a chance will take new "group" picture

I just love them all thank you so much.  Name is a twist on name of block (fresh is a synonym of modern) and fact these blocks came from two bees. (and the word beeing can mean a state of complete relaxation which is what one does when using a quilt;-)

The top is done and ready to be quilted.
Update 11-1-14 used new machine to FMQ this quilt...what a joy my machine is...I will never be truly good at FMQ but it sure is a lot faster and easier and better with my Brother!! No clue what to use for binding...

Update 11-29-14 This one is finally done! I got the backing fabric on sale and just love it...went out in the 10" of snow for pictures...gorgeous day.

Nexxus831

Beautiful choice in fabrics. Can't wait to see the block completed.

True

Nexxus831 thank you! I bought these for the other Bee (Bee Biased) for the block for the February Queen and fell in love with them when they arrived. So when I offered to jump into this other Bee unexpectedly they were sitting on table staring at me and I realized they should work perfectly for this block. Hope to get in made tonight or tomorrow!

AllPatchedUp

Beautiful block True!! Love how everything plays so well together...and that center medallion, gorgeous! :)

Quilt455

This is really nice. Mary, are you in both hive 1 and 2? you are a busy girl

Quilbee

Cool! Nice choice of fabrics.

Terryt1955

I'm confused too.Are you in 3 hives?! And you are finishing up UFO's for the FQ swap? Okay. time to come clean. I want to know what "supplements" you are taking and are they legal.
Great color combination here. It really cheers up this block!

True

Terryt1955 LOL right now I need some supplements as I have been sick so long I feel like I should crawl under a rock. So yes Terry and Quilt455 I am now in three hives. Hive #2 had their February queen disppear and Allpatchedup needed someone to step in and help so I said I would. I have to say I have felt so yucky that it has been nice having smaller things to do as the bigger UFO's require a bit more energy than I have had. I hope I will be back on track any moment!

True

Allpatchedup Thank you...I do love thes fabrics more than I thought I would when I ordered them to use for other bee. Thanks Quilbee

AllPatchedUp

I certainly hope you start to feel better soon True !! You've definitely had your fill of sick by now. And this nasty weather we've been having certainly isn't helping...it just sucks the energy right out of everyone.

Sewnsew

Terryt1955 LMFAO Do we need to have True tested for doping? True I hope you are feeling better soon. sends you a get well hug Lovely looking block.

Terryt1955

Sewnsew All I know is whatever she's on I want on. She cranks out so any great projects big and small! I think I need to be cut off from the Internet to see some productivity.....

True

Allpatchedup Carolmarie Sewnsew and Terryt1955 thank you all... I do think as of late yesterday I finally may be headed in right direction health wise we shall see...just finished second round of antibiotic Thursday so fingers crossed!! LOL about doping...all you would get is lot of water and chicken soup;-). And I spend way too much time on Internet as my iPad makes it too easy to access!! I do love this block and fabric so very happy I jumped in to Bee:-)

AllPatchedUp

The blocks are looking gorgeous all together True !! Can't wait to see this finished...I really enjoyed this pattern. :)

AllPatchedUp

Loving your blocks Mary!!

My mom is doing what you mentioned....using the same block for two different hives/Queen months so that she has enough blocks to make one larger quilt. Definitely an idea! :)

True

AllPatchedUp Carolmarie thank you.., and there is a whole lot of talent here for sure! And I feel so lucky to benefit from it! Angela I saw your mom mention that as well...I had been toying with the idea for awhile and then was not sure I wanted to wait BUT I so love how these blocks are coming together all on their own that I kind of do not want to take control of it by being the one to finish all the rest. Now I could change my mind as waiting may prove too much for me;-) (Not that I don't have enough to keep me busy;-)

AllPatchedUp

I know what you mean about letting the quilt come together on its own True ....I love when they do that!! And I could certainly see why you'd want that to continue. :) If you decide to wait, I'll do my best to remind you to 'leave it alone'!! smirk

Capetowngirl

Great idea to collect some more from your other hive. The ones you have so far look fantastic. I am so glad I still have about 6 months before I make a final decision on my block choice. i keep seeing beautiful blocks on the other hives

Missriain

This is gorgeous!

True

Missriain Thank you...such talent and great fabric choices from my fellow threaders. I have it on my design wall in my bedroom and love seeing it!

Quilt455

These are wonderful., It is so fun to see how everyone decided to create their block.

True

Quilt455 So agree and truly amazing how they seem to be balancing each other out...a couple in each color (or more) so really works!

HawkFan

Wow Mary you did an AMAZING job of putting these diverse blocks together.

Readerowl

Fun to see these again! Looks wonderful.

Terryt1955

Are you kidding me! This is what it looks like when all put together? I absolutely love it!!! I think the pain of having different sized blocks was well worth the end results. Beautiful, fresh, lively and ready for a picnic!

Caribousmom

Mary, I really like this one - I know it has been a challenge to piece together, but the colors are great!

True

Caribousmom Readerowl Terryt1955 HawkFan thank you all...it was a nightmare to get to this point but I am loving how it looks now. Quilting it will be a challenge so need to think about it and build up courage! I love this pattern and may use it when Kate Spain's new line, Horizon, comes out.

Quilterinmotion

Beautiful finish Mary. Your colors are amazing. Your bee-urifl squares made a lovely quilt!

Quilterinmotion

That was Bee-utiful not sure why it changed.

True

Quilterinmotion thank you...th colors were all just luck of what was sent me as I did not set color preferences. I really loved seeing what came in the mailbox and how it ended up working!

True

Carolmarie thank you and I love it! The larger throat alone makes it so much easier and then there are many other things that also help!!

HawkFan

Love the quilting on it. Perfect choice for this top

Speattle

Oh, I heart a picture of a quilt in the snow! snowman

Mymble

Wow- looks awesome Mary and the backing is wonderful!

True

Mymble Speattle thank you and I love quilts and snow as well... Margaret I waa going to donate this one but the back has me wanting to keep it!!

Quilterinmotion

True , this one is definitely a keeper for you as so many of your TB friends had a part in it! The backing is adorable too. It looks so great and happy you enjoyed your FMQ experience with the new machine.

True

Quilterinmotion thank you... My new machine is quite the dream to sew and quilt with...

Dzirin

I never would have thought to photograph a quilt in the snow. Nice photos.

True

Dzirin thank you...since it was still so fresh and bright out there it seemed to be calling me:-)

Lovely and what a great setting for the quilt. That's one way to put a positive spin on 10 inches of snow!
