Lovely block, True. That fabric is gorgeous. It is like a quilt within a quilt!
Really like it. Wow, your points are great. Jealous!!!!
Very pretty and the fabric is wonderful. It reminds me of Cathedral Window. So are you now all finished with your many hive blocks for the month and able to take a break (and a nap) to beat the nasty bug you've been battling? It's time to bring out the homemade chicken soup for you. It really does work! Here's a bowl for you...
You did great with the block and love the fabric you chose. Said that in the post, but figured I should really have said it here!! :P
Sewnsew Quilt455 Terryt1955 Allpatchedup thank you all! With Angela's tutorial this was a breeze;-) (leaf blowing in the wind...breeze;-). I am done with be blocks and may even be ahead of myself!! And a miracle may be happening at about 3 yesterday something in my body seemed to be shifting...I felt better last night than I have felt in weeks so maybe I am moving beyond this thing that has a hold of me! Fingers crossed. And thanks for the homemade soup...I not had any homemade kind but I have eaten enough of the progresso version in the past three and a half weeks to own stock I swear. I was digging for fabric that fit the Queen's request and found this one and loved it so went with it!
SO glad to hear it may finally be letting go of ya!! I'll keep sending out some good thoughts and positive energy! ;)
Great news that you seem to have turned a corner. I always start freaking out when anything lasts more than a week. Who has time to be sick and feel like crud! Too many quilts to sew....
Hate when that happens!!! Always a bummer, but equally nice getting a new iron. ;)
So what iron did you end up getting? I'm at the point where mine is going to die any time soon but I don't want to take out a 2nd mortgage to get one.
Terryt1955 I had a rowenta (and loved it) so got another one the DW2090. It is heavier than my other one which I am not sure how I feel about at moment (but I always hate change of any kind!) but like the fact can better regulate steam, it has a retractable cord and the end is better for precision than the one that died. Now they also did not have the one I already had so it was irrelevant. And I used my 40% off coupon from Joann's so got it for a decent price (despite fact something that should have taken 10 minutes to get took 45!) I do have to say the cheap black and decker I had for years lasted alot longer but it was not as good for quilting.
I always forget that JoAnn's carries irons. The store closest to me isn't very well stocked but since they are all over the town I should be able to locate one at another store.
Could your points BE any better! And you thought you'd have trouble with this one. Ha! I'm sure Curt is going to like this color combination too. Great bold complimentary colors.
Terryt1955 thank you...I was so worried and I followed Angela's tutorial so carefully and truly it was not hard. I did be very careful with bias and did not use steam until all done to press.
I absolutely love the colors and your points are perfect, great job!!! I love the complimentary colors they will work well in the quilt.
Curt So glad you like it! I have to confess I do not think in the color wheel or even know much how to use it...and need to learn to do so! I always have to just lay things hope and go with my gut...so glad it works for you:-)
Juline I am glad you like it and I love text fabric...laid in bed figuring out what to use for other fabrics so could use it!!
A beautiful Bento box! I can't decide if I like the text fabric better or the glorious center purple fabric. They are both wonderful. Good call!
Every time I see a Granny Square I fall in love all over again. I think I'm definitely going to choose it when I'm Queen Bee. I just love what you've been doing with the text background fabric! Have you seen Architextures by Free Spirit (I think?). It strikes me as a line you'd have fun with.
Terryt1955 Thank you...I have seen that collection and have a bit of one of the text prints. This time Linda gets all the credit as all I did was follow her directions and she asked for text! I love this block as well and this one is a 12.5" one so bigger.
You forgot to sign Tracy's block!
Juline Oh god thank you for reminding me as I would have totally spaced it...even figured out how the other night but that was no where in my brain tonight!
Well, after I posted that I wondered if maybe you just didn't want all that info "out there" so you took the pic before you added it. Anyway, glad I reminded you :).
How are you going to sign it? With a pen or thread?
Another great block (August)!
August block is so pretty! The blue is so striking. Looks like it has some sketching on it?
Terryt1955 it does it is called Sketch by Timeless Treasure. I got it in a rainbow bundle I bought and just love all the colors and different fabrics it gave me to work with...this one I was so excited as it matched the moda candy packet (from Wendy) that I used for 9 patch) so perfectly.
True I love the blue. It is just great and makes the whole block pop, pop, pop. Love the fabric squares too
Well I guess I called that one right. Maybe I should name fabric in my next career, LOL! I'm going to check out the line. I can see using it for blenders.
Terryt1955 LOL good new career!!! It comes in a bunch of colors I think I have it in purple as well.
Ohhh purple!! I just went on Fat Quarter Shop and can't believe how many colors they have. It's too hard to chose!
Oh True I LOVE the wonky house. Of course it's a holiday weekend and I'll have to wait longer to get it. What great details you added. I am beyond thrilled. Thank you so much!!
Your wonky house is so cute. I love the little flower in the window. At some point, I really am going to make a wonky house quilt.
What a cute block for a Christmas quilt! Love this woven strip block. The first one I ever made was for the Threadbias Community quilt. I felt so contemporary!
Terryt1955 ;-) Have you seen a quilt made from this block? I would love to see what it looks like...will have to google and thanks!
Such fun fabrics in your October block. Reminds me of a gift, all wrapped up
Ah the November block has such a wonderful vintage, antiquey feel - should be a really sweet quilt!
