Description

4/2/13  The first four butterflies to have flown in for the Bee Biased group.  Rather pleased with myself that I spotted the applique one through the wrapping ;) Love them all, particularly the fact that they contain fabrics that I probably wouldn't have bought for myself.   Looking forward to the rest of the month :)
5/2/13 Butterfly no 5 arrived this morning from Marsha - Quilterinmotion. with butterflies on the background fabric too, I love the little detail of one of them being outlined :)
12/2/13 Butterfly no. 6 flew in today from +Strandkorbtraum, beautifully wrapped and accompanied by some very tasty chocolate.  Thanks a lot Leo.
13/2/13 Butterfly no 7 flew in today. Thank you Rebecca, love the background.  Unfortunately I will need to a little bit of tweaking as it is measuring a bit small, especially compared to Leo's butterfly, but because of the background being pieced, I reckon I am in with a chance of finding enough for the seam allowances I need.
27/2/13  Chandra flew in at no. 8 over the weekend and Cynthia's arrived today :)

I am so pleased with how these are looking especially with how the backgrounds are coming in as light & coloured, and I won't need to worry about the last 2 because whatever is chosen I can balance the layout with my own butterfly at the end (I am more at ease working with symmetrical designs ;)

8/3/13  No 10 flew in yesterday, a beautiful embroidered butterfly from Chrissybugs.  Lover the setting.  I am also impressed that all the greens are so close in hue too - it must be the current shade ;)

Has to check in before go to work! First Happy Birthday!!!!!!! And these are all gorgeous...and so different which I think is so cool. I am glad you like them...this was a great challenge for me I must say:-)

Chrissybugs

Great job, everyone. I'm glad I got to see these before I made mine!

Rebeccajeffsmith

I agree with Chrissybugs . But now I have what I think is a good idea. Hope Posyp thinks so, too.

Chandra

Nicw work everyone...Mine isn't finished yet but this motivated me to step it up and join the party!

Jodyrose

Awesome job everyone! I have my fabrics auditioning...I am anxious to see if I can master the pattern I have chosen :)

Kathie

These are wonderful and each one so unique! I love all of them smile .

Quilterinmotion

What fun to see what's arrived so far. You must be having a lot of fun, Posyp , as each package arrives. I'm happy you enjoyed my butterfly.

Strandkorbtraum

I'm glad it arrived safely

True

Love the new additions and Leo yours is awesome!

Jodyrose

Ohhhhh the pressure is on!!! I need to get stitching!!!

Chandra

I sent my block last week, and I included a little extra fabric if you needed to help any blocks fit in!

Posyp

Chandra Keeping an eye and ear on the letterbox for any more exciting foreign parcels to come through the door...

Liz-easystitcher

Wowee you are all so clever they look great am new to quilting so joining lots of groups to watch read learn new things and chat with amazing quilters

Strandkorbtraum

They look so interssting together - so completely different but held together by the butterflies ...

stitchcat

Great looking butterflies! What a great idea - each block using a common theme but a different technique to achieve it!

Posyp

Stitchcat Strandkorbtraum This is what I was hoping for and it is turning out beautifully. There are definitely styles and fabrics that I would not do or buy for myself, but they are all looking great together.

True

Wow this is gorgeous. I have to admit I could not picture how this would work in my head...and now see how brilliant your idea was...wow!!

Rebeccajeffsmith

Posyp , I'm glad you like my block. You have such a beautiful assortment of butterflies!

Posyp

True This really does show that by having a consistent theme &/or colour they will all work together, although they are all so different. It would probably have worked if I had just specified butterflies, but a blue & white quilt is on my bucket list & I thought that I would kill 2 birds with one stone, as it were. Planning on a complicated sashing variation from this years TQS BOM

Laweigel

Posyp Can't wait to see this one with your fancy sashing. They all look so beautiful...and what are the chances that Sewqueen and I would pick the same block to make?! Now that's symmetry :) Love your block Cynthia! wave

Chandra

Wow! I'm so impressed it flew to you so fast!

Posyp

Chandra sometimes it goes like that. A couple of years ago I post a parcel to the states at the end of feb, a week later I posted another to the same address, the second parcel arrived just over a week later, whilst the first parcel took about 6 weeks (and only just arrived in time it was for the Big hst exchange). Last year I had a parcel arrive from Australia in 4 days flat - that was a big wow!

Chandra

4 days is a big wow...that happens sometimes between US and Canada but usually we had to wait a full 2 weeks.

Chrissybugs

Glad mine finally arrived, safe and sound. Can't wait to see the finished product!

JudyBR

These are going to make a great quilt. Can't wait to see it assembled.

True

Chrissybugs that is one gorgeous block!!

Jodyrose

BooHoo..thought mine would be there by now...LOVE how this looks...do you have any ideas how you will set them together yet?

Posyp

Well I am planning on sashing that is all triangles (see picture above) but I will probably be reversing the colours and using blue & neutrals. I have plenty of neutrals now thanks to the 'You complete me' group, just need to change my request for blue fabrics and make sure that I get some more finishes and that will sorted ;)
