Description

The Pattern is one I got at sewing club.  Dude Baby Bibs and comes in a couple of boy themed views.  My one year old grandson has recently moved to Texas, so I thought the cowboy theme was a good one for him.  I picked up this cute flannel at Hobby Lobby last year because of the bear cowboy print with the idea of making him some jammies at a later date.  I borrowed a bit of the yardage to do this bib.

The blue fabric at the neckline is actually a bandana that I had and cut up.  To line the bib I used an old bath towel that had frayed edges, but the middle was still fine.

This stitched up quickly, though attaching the neck piece is a tiny bit fiddly going around the curve of the  neckline.

It will be sent for Valentines day along with some of his favorite treates, Gerber Puffs.

Well, he is only one so I don't know if he will actually care or not, but he will sure be cute in it for sure. (but then he is super cute in anything).

His mom will like it though. The pattern called for just cutting the front fabric out for the lining. I thought the terrycloth toweling would be more practical and more absorbent for any spills. It could even be worn with the towel side out if the meal is particularly messy and they don't want to stain the front.

His nick name has always been Little Bear, so when I saw this fabric I had to get it with him in mind. I mean, how often are you going to see fabric that is Little Bear Cowboys? And for a Little Bear who lives in Texas, this is perfect.

That is the perfect fabric and I agree with you about the towel! I bet even at one he knows what he likes and I am betting he will like his bear bib;-). And we need a picture of him wearing it!!

Thank you so much. I am really pleased with how it turned out. It was very easy to make and I'd recommend the pattern to anyone who loves to sew for babies.

Rootin' tootin' cute, for sure! Gramma's are so great to have, I'm sure your grandson will agree when he's old enough.
