This is nice! Love the blues
was playing with scraps and watched a video on tube sewing.
Great! And it's so funny because I tried my first two hourglass blocks just last night! Never heard of 'double hourglass'; I like them. :)
He's doing such a great job...so proud of him. :)
It's fun to watch him look at things online and then find something he loves. He turns right around and has to try it out! lol I'm working on convincing him to just go purchase some fabrics and start a quilt of his own so he can do the whole process!!
Fantastic blocks, and great choice of complimentary colours
having fun matching colors
Look at you go! :)
These are great blocks...you are on a roll!
got my new sewing machine yesterday and did 6 blocks since I unpacked it. plus I bordered my pot holder... love it!! what a great valentines day gift Ang allowed me to have.
That is a FABULOUS Valentine's gift. Lucky!
how about joining a Doll Quilt / Miniquilt Swap to learn the whole quilting buisness - the first big quilt is really scary and with the small ones you can learn everything you need to make a quilt - but it's faster and you ruin less if it goes wrong and you can try out a lot of things ...
That is some meticulous matching up, I guess the military training is paying off ;)
Ty for the compliment, I have definitely been trained to pay attention to detail.
These blocks are awesome! I love the 3-D effect that happens with them.
These are crazy good! I can't even imagine what you will be making a year from now, the way your skills are growing by leaps and bounds. Must have a good teacher!
I can't wait to make the block, I haven't made this one and BOLD is my favorite way to go!
Your blocks are beautiful! I love the black backgrounds. So what is the relationship between you and Allpatchedup ?
This is so terrific.
These are very cool blocks! Love the bold colors and the striking contrasts in colors. How did you do the picture with all of them on a black background or is that black fabric?? It looks like you did some special effect?
that is the Kona black that I will be adding to it to finish the quilt
He photographed them on the black fabric, then he went to picmonkey.com and played with the layout there. There's a collage feature that helps if you have a photo of each block. :)
So glad it got there safe and sound! I love how you took this picture and the collage thing that I would be clueless how to use...really a great tool for planning your layout!
I am loving this quilt. The blocks are stunning on the black background!
I love pic monkey and the best part is it is freeeeeeee.
He's a quick learner. ;) Watches closely and leans toward the perfectionist side. lol
Can you find your block(s)? they are all coming together so beautifully I love the hard work you all are putting in to this. LOVE LOVE LOVE
This is truly going to be a spectacular quilt!
ok....you sold me on this quilt....it is incredible. love the colors & how they play on the black!!
a few more days and at least 4 more blocks
yes...it does make me want to make one now i think my husband would love this quilt my problem is i want to do too many things. this is an addicting passion
ty Ladyreed I got your blocks today and they are beautiful very clean points and I like the color match orange is one of my favorite colors. but then again so is blue and green and red and..... lol
Curt....As I have said before I just love the colors of this quilt. I received a new copy of the Connecting Threads magazine & a quilt on the back cover reminded me of you. I wish the pics I took were better. Here is link on my flickr account. :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/sewbusy64/8624939252/in/photostream/
Existitchialism I am able to use all except for one block the butterflies and green it is very pretty and it is sitting on my design wall it is just a little too small so it will be a back side of the quilt. I love the vibrant colors. I liked them so much i had to bump 3 of mine to the back.
Oh, that's awesome! I'm so glad. :D
I'm so thrilled, I just have to comment again! lol This is going to be a beautiful quilt.
This quilt reminds me of the Jewels game app. Very striking!
Wow - did you do all the other blocks? I mean looks like there are way more than 12 blocks in there...
Yes I did 15 and I got 16 from the bee
I am assembling them in the order that you see in the August pic monkey. Some will be rotated a quarter turn but other than that what you see will be the final product. now back to work for me
Everyone did really well with size I am only reducing each bock to 12.25 inches I have to switch one block out of the pic monkey picture because it only measured 11.75 total size, but no worries I got 4 blocks from that member.
Wow, this is great. Love how you put it all together
ty Quilt455 it has been a long time coming that I needed to put it together.
Man, they look terrific on point! Love the dark background.
Very cool block, Curt. Such a simple block that turned out stunning~!
Isn't it amazing how different blocks look when they're on point. The differences in background colors give it a bit of a shadow effect (at least in the pictures) that looks really cool
Wow Curt. I just love how you have put your blocks on point. Changes the whole look. And the dark background makes the hour glass blocks very vibrant.
