Description

After viewing a tutorial on YouTube I decided to give English paper piecing a try. I needed a little pouch to keep my quilting supplies in and I decided to make it from a scrap bag of fabrics and 100 half-inch hexagons.
As it turned out, it's a little addictive, and what started as a project for a little bag has grown to be a project for a single bed-sized quilt. I am unsure I will stop at that point and am curious when the Hexing will stop.

Ohhh, that is lovely! Yes, hexies are addictive! I will have a dig through my stash and see what I can send you.

I just finished reading a wonderful historical fiction, The Last Runaway by Tracy Chevalier. Her main character is Honor Bright, newly moved from England to Ohio who is a quilter and a Quaker. Honor introduces the English paper piecing of hexagons to the Ohio quilters. Honor becomes involved with the underground RR as she settles into her new life in America. Yes, I will send you some squares of the colors you need. My email is charwirfs@gmail.com where you can leave a your mailing address. I learned to make hexagons using the paper piecing method and don't know any other way. Love your colors.

The hexies are addictive. I have a project in progress with the half inch size also. It's slow going - yours is looking great!

Wow! Love those cute tied up bundles. You have come a long way. So many hexies, great assortment of solids and prints. I love the setting fabric choice. Such a cool project!

Your hexagons are beautiful and so meticulously organized. I can't wait to see the finished project!
