lovely bird fabric - well maybe you can use some of your I-spy swap fabric for the hour glass blocks - that is the fabric that you don't need for your ?was it hockey? quilt ...
Strandkorbtraum That is a great idea! I hadn't even thought of that. :)
And, yes, it is a hockey quilt.
Love these- your hexies look super and the bird fabric is awesome!
Carolmarie Thank you! :) :)
I have been browsing through blocks, and the hourglass blocks and butterfly blocks are just so beautiful. I think I will try some butterfly blocks this week. :)
Silsbee I am with you, I love the hourglass block too. You did a great job on your blocks. You can make a sampler if you keep going.
Carolmarie I've only seen piecing method tutorials like this one: http://mrsschmenkmanquilts.wordpress.com/2010/06/03/butterfly-block-tutorial/. I won't be attempting those gorgeous 'actual' butterflies yet! ;)
Quilt455 Oooh! A sampler! Now that's an idea. :)
I'm having a ton of fun trying different ones. It'll be interesting to see if any one thing can hold my attention long enough to finish up an entire quilt. hee.
And thanks! ;)
All those blocks look lovely! lol You only need to do 9 blocks and call it a dolly quilt. Seven more and you will be ready to sew them together.
you can always use a doll quilt as wall hanging .. or the wall hanging as doll quilt...
