That is adorable! I love the yellow. What a great gift for you! :) :)
OK I am in love...and the fabric is just too cute!
I'm so glad you've received and like it. It was a fun one to make.
Kruppcake did a wonderful job! Love the cute owls and I love the interior fabric too!
One day I am going to take the plunge and conquer my zipper fear! Seeing all these darling zippies sure is inspirational.
Terryt1955 She surely did- and you MUST dive in-they aren't as nasty as you think- and there are so many tutorials full of tips- you can't really go wrong!
Mymble I do love mine too. It arrived yesterday afternoon. I can't wait to take some photos so everyone can see it. It's perfect for my beading projects I'm working on. Thank you.
Kruppcake Sooooooo happy- that was my idea- I'm a beader too ( when I get the chance!!!) so I tried to imagine what work:)
Carolmarie I think I'm pretty standard in my hexie making- here's a link for just one of the great tutorials out there http://beeinmybonnetco.blogspot.com/2010/04/hexie-paper-piecing-tutorial.html
The very best info on hexie making comes from Japanese sewing books like Sweet & Simple Patchwork Gifts by Hisako Arai. The sewing is sooo precise- a bit intimidating actually but if you want really precise instructions that book gives them- both with paper piecing and without. It's hard to imagine sewing hexies without the paper pieces, but the author considers paper piecing a beginner technique and sewing the hexies without the more advanced way- talk about intimidating!!!!
One thing I have found that doesn't always get mentioned is use fine thread- even silk for sewing the hexies together- this makes for practically invisible seams- It's so frustrating to do all that work- flip it over and see little stitches showing-arghhh!!!!! Happy sewing!!!!
Cute! Love the fabric and the yellow zipper is perfect!
This is the cutest lil zipper bird pouch ever! Love it!! thank you I am really enjoying it
Caa48 That is so cute that we both got pouches from the same fabric- looks like we are on the cusp of a trend eh?
yes i just love mine - i started posting and then realized i was on the wrong partner :-)
Caa48 Yes, but we were partners in the pin cushion swap of 2012 though. I use my bird pin cushion all the time. She's holding my glass head pins right now.
Caa48 Littlebitofbeads and I know each other. We bead together at least once a month. I love the pattern she used which is by Basic Grey. I guess great minds think alike. Too funny!
well you both are very talented! and beading? wow = i just love these swaps and can't wait til we do another one!! :-)
Kruppcake can I ask the name of the fabric you used for this. I absolutely love it. You did an amazing job.
I love how you photographed it on the window sill. It is as if the little birds just flew in from the trees outside for a visit.
Speattle LOL- I never thought of that- that spot is one of the best places to get pictures with true light:), so I tend to gravitate towards it whenever I need a photo.
I have a dining room window with that same feeling and use it for photography too. We have even recently had the woodwork redone in the pretty white like yours too. I think that is why the photo caught my eye, because I love to take pictures in a similar type spot.
