Description

I made this for myself after seeing the free pattern at PatternPile.com.  It's free from Jo-Lynda's Attic at Craftsy.

I was inspired to use the fabrics I did for two reasons.  One, I'm a breast cancer survivor and two, I had all three in my stash.

I like to increase awareness of breast cancer and get people talking about it.  I have survivor's guilt a lot, especially about my best high school friend who died from it a day before her 40th birthday...when I also had it but didn't know it yet (but my hubby suspected it).  I was diagnosed at age 40 and there are so many women I know (and two MEN!) who were diagnosed in their 30s.  Thankfully for me I was done having children.

I was proud of myself because I tackled a zipper in this project!  It's for the inside pocket and I initially was just going to have an open pocket, but when I saw how easy the zipper was, I gave in.  I didn't even use my zipper foot!  I may just have to tackle bias binding soon, too!
