Description

I decided to make a dog bed for Fleury for my quilt guild's challenge. I spiced up the Madrona Road set by adding green and bright orange (the color of his favorite ball). He loves it!

The original top, which I scrapped, is being made into a dog quilt/ mat/ food bowl thing/ i dunno....I ended up making a mini-quilt that I'm using under his food and water bowls since he's such a dribbler. I love how the set coordinates, but are still so different. The only thing I didn't use from my stash and had to purchase was the quilt's binding! Woo hoo for a project complete and using up what I already have!

Love that this is for your pup!!

Jess

I have to say, True , that I am absolutely hating this project right now. It's 3 dimensional and a pain in the butt - sticking to 2D quilts is much preferred. And it has a zipper. I have torn out that thing I don't know how many times now....Grrr!

Laweigel

So great! Fleury is such a good model!

Jodyrose

awwwww, your model wont care about the zipper ....and KUDOS for the piping..that is my most hated sewing chore!

Charwirfs

Did you recover an old bed or use a new pad? Fleury is sur loving it!

True

I am so not letting my dogs see this one...WOW love it and gorgeous! And Fleury looks gorgeous!

Readerowl

Love the cushion and dog - great pictures and design. The orange and green work really well which surprises me. Love to be surprised like that.

Jess

Laweigel - Gosh, he is a great model. I don't know why but when the camera comes out, he poses and just loooves the attention. Only problem comes when I'm actually trying to photograph something else!

Jodyrose - aside from the zipper, it is now my second least desirable thing to do. I really hope this bed lasts him a while, because it's going to take some time on my part to forget the pain of making it lol.

Charwirfs - I actually had an old feather bed laying around we weren't using, so I ripped parts of that off, restuffed it with the extra feathers and stitched it back up. I DO NOT recommend it - like ever. I'm still cleaning up feathers and I think I finished closing it up two months ago....NEVER EVER EVER EVER do it. lol.

Thanks, True ! Glad it was a good surprise Readerowl . :)

Oh my goodness your pup is getting so big! Great mat and super cute bed. I like how much your fabric choices in the bed changed the whole look of the line!

Maura

Great job!

Skynme

I love both the bed and the blanket. Looks like Fleury loved them also. Great Job!

Love this. I have been contemplating making something like this for my two pups. I am adding it to my very long "to do" list. It is going closer to toe top of the list though. heart_eyes
