This is going to be lovely...I love this fabric as well.
True Thank you - I'm a bit nervous about all of the applique but looking forward to enjoying it on my table.
Stamdl I have found when I do appliqué just take it slow and remember you have a seams ripper as needed! (not to suggest you will need it;-). I always worry "can I do this" and have found if I just focus in one step at a time I can!
Very pretty and perfect for spring!
Rebeccajeffsmith Thank you! This is one of my older UFOs so it will feel good to finish it up.
True Thanks for the advice and boosting my confidence. I shouldn't put things off... because they just grow more ominous!
Stamdl I also remembered on way to work I had this pinned and some of it is no brainer stuff but some was really helpful http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/techniques/applique/machine-applique-tips_ss1.html?sssdmh=dm17.595844&esrc=nwapq050812&email=2677154776
True Thank you SO much! The section on how to pivot around curves is just what I need. I also need to remember that the only one who will examine every stitch is me! Tomorrow AM I'll be buying thread and getting started hopefully in the afternoon, I'll post pics.
Stamdl that is the part I found really helpful and since I read it find I am much better at it than I use to be. I also read somewhere (may be in this reading but may be from some where else) to remember you can also hand manipulate where your needle falls using your hand wheel. I have become quite good at that and it has helped alot of corners, curves, etc. And yes no one but you will look as closely at it... I have ended up loving the things I have appliqued (as I sit in my office and can see two of my favorites on my walls!) and gets lots of positive comments about them... but will say when I finish a project I do need a break from it as it exhausts me a bit!!
This is so pretty. I love the way the colors blend together.
It is gorgeous and now you know why I said "when I finish a project I do need a break from it as it exhausts me a bit!!" It is time well spent but boy oh boy it takes forever! Your end result is so lovely.
True The link you send helped so much! Doing the 1st vine was painful... but it got better. The soft colors in this runner were 1) wonderful to hide my oopsies but also 2)really hard on the eyes while stitching!
It is beautiful! Congratulations.
Hey! You did a great applique job. Looks like you've been doing it all along. I only wish my machine had that stitch. You did a great job, congrats on another finish!!!
You were very smart to make the applique be the star of the table runner. What a beautiful job you did! When I first saw the flowers just laying on top I thought they were going to be too busy and distracting. But not the case now that they are appliqued on!
