Great call on using the "sameness" route. I really love the feel of this quilt. So where on the internet did you find this pattern?
I love your fabric choices. This is my guild's BOM for February. We're using this tutorial: http://badskirt.blogspot.com/2011/04/japanese-x-and-scrappy-quilt-tutorial.html
Wow, wow, wow I love this...the use of the black and white but different ones is so cool and so pretty. You nailed this one and yes what tutorial did you use...will check out Juline's as well!
I used a tutorial that was actually linked to the flickr pics page. It actually makes a 12" square instead of the 6" or 7" I have been seeing.
I for the life of me cannot find the picture so I just drew it up really fast.
I will post a pic in my slideshow showing the pattern. Hope this helps!
I tried posting the picture of the pattern I took with my cell phone and for some reason it's not wanting to save correctly. I have a quick picture up on my blog today: http://modernhandcraft.com/post//japanese-x-and-quilt
I took several pics while making the quilt so I'll post a quick "tutorial" here later this week. If anyone makes this quilt I can't wait to see it!
Making a Dr. Seuss one like this in the future, I have a huge pile of fabrics that I need to use and this pattern might be really cute with all of the fun colors. :)
