Description

03/03/13 Picked out  my fabric and cutting out A and B templates.

03/04/13 Sewed the first "leave" together. Thanks to Rebecca Trick, I only pinned the middle and sides. Sewing the curves went pretty easy but my block were about 3 3/4 instead of the 3  1/2 inches. So I squared them up and put the first one together. Going to try to work on it again tomorrow night.

03/11/13 Got all the leaves together and stitched on the vine. Had to use the seam ripper a few times since I have the habit of putting slashing on both ends of the block and then realize I only need it on one end., GRRRR you would think I would learn after the first time., I also did the vine in Kona coffee brown at first but felt it was too dark for my leaves so out came the ripper again., Ended up going with the green vine., Going to try to work on it some more tomorrow evening, Husband is out of town so I get alot more done.

03/31/13 Hurray, finish in the month of march!!!! Really enjoyed this project; learned sewing curves and did much better on my corners. Decided to piece the back so I can flip it over if I get tired of the top. Now on to April!

They are going to be wonderful vines, I love the idea of using springing florals!!!

True

Pretty fabrics and sounds like so far so good!!

Stamdl

Stunning! I'm thinking along your lines too... I have so many florals in my stash. Your curves look great!

Caribousmom

Okay, you are KILLING ME! LOL - That is so funny that we picked almost the exact same color scheme and flowered fabric!! Great minds think alike?

Quilt455

Stamdl True Carolmarie Joanne-rosedahlia Thanks. I had to laugh when I saw Caribousmom's fabric; we didn't even discuss what we were thinking about doing. Doing the curve was no where near as difficult as I thought it would be. I am, just hoping everything lines up when I put it all together or I am going to have a lot of new pot holders.

Quilt455

Caribousmom That is why I was laughing so hard when I saw you fabric choices. Gee, I guess your creative mind is rubbing off on me. Thank Goodness!!!!!

Rebecca

Quilt455 Love that floral in the back with the dark blue background! There's going to be a lot of great spring runners it looks like. Your one leaf is looking good!

Silsbee

Gorgeous florals!! :)

Dzirin

Rebecca Thanks Rebecca, your trick with the tweezers was great. Really helped me. I think it is great that you are hand quilting yours. I did hand quilting for years until my wrist said no more. It can be really calming.

Quilt455

Dzirin Silsbee Thanks. I hope to be able to work on it this weekend and get it finished. Life just keeps getting in the way of my sewing!

Mary
