Description

I don't know what this fabric is, it's plaid, but it feels kind of like a brocade type material.  I used it to make this jacket with only little bits left over, I'm not sure what to use those for!  Perhaps a zipper pouch.

With sleeves, still not ironed
This jacket needs sleeves. And a good ironing.

Carolmarie I'm sort of following a pattern... but I had to invent my own sleeves, which I managed to accomplish with amazingly little difficulty shortly after I posted this!

Robynie

Carolmarie Yeah I'm pretty excited! I have to hem the bottom then I will post a new picture :)

I love the fabric. It envokes of the 70's - but in a good way.

Robynie

Mouseinmypocket There is a good chance it is from the 70s!

Robynie That's awesome! Vintage fabric is always a blast to work with, as long as you don't run out. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Charwirfs

Great looking jacket. Love the yellow and green shades of the plaid.

Amanda

I love this jacket so much!

Looks great with the sleeves on. Are you planning to line it, or leave it as is?

Robynie

Mouseinmypocket It has facing in the front (you can see it peeking out a bit in the sleeveless picture, it's an orange floral), but the plaid fabric looked pretty nice from both sides, so I just did binding to finish the interior seams rather than lining it. My machine doesn't want to sew the binding on neatly around the pocket linings though, so I'm going to do that by hand one day when I'm feeling really bored.
