Description

Ok, here we go. I finally got old pictures of my older quilts out of the hard drive... That means lot of projects I have to add to my gallery. :)

This bedspread was my first project and I learnt a whole lot making it. I attended a class to learn the basics. The size I made was huge since it was made for bed 160 cm wide.

So what did I learn:
- You need lots and lots and lots of fabric and then some... That is why the quilt doesn't look anything what
   you intended
- Cats make tiny holes in your quilts and that makes you sad, so do not make beadspreads since you have
to hide them in the closet or give them away for safe keeping
- A huge quilt requires a lot of small blocks....
- AND PATCHWORK IS AWESOME :D

Beautiful! I know what you mean about the cats. I'm just accepting the fact already that he is going to 'make it his own' with his scratch marks. Argh... ;)

WOW...what a great first effort.

Amazing project for a first quilt - finished and beautiful so it gets many gold stars!!! Sorry that the kitties love them so much that you don't want to put them on your beds.

Sbbquilter Janquilter Silsbee Thank you everybody so much!
I did learn a lesson with this one, and that is to use a storebought beadspread (I have a nice off-white, beautifully quilted one) in which kitty made holes do not make me want to cry and I throw a nice home made lap quilt to the food end of the bed to add a splash of color... And somehow cats tend to leave the smaller quilts alone (and hole free!).
