Muslin Peasant dress - 1971 by Speattle
I found this photo today while doing a long overdue closet cleaning. It is the only photo of this dress that I think I have. I was in the 10th grade. This is just a basic peasant dress (very popular pattern in that era). I remember choosing to do this completely from cotton muslin. I actually made 2 dresses, and sewed them together, right side together so it would be lined. I think the pattern called for only one casing row, but I made several. The ruffle at the bottom was single and I sewed it between the layers.
As for the artsy photography... both my mom and step-dad were talented artists. This was taken by my step-dad in our front room in the natural light. I wish it were better in focus. Maybe he did that intentionally.
