Cupcake Dress by sew42mom
Last week I went into Hancock's to buy some denim for skirts for my youngest DD. I left the store with the denim and a couple of pieces of seersucker in turquoise. One piece also had tiny cupcakes embroidered all over the fabric. How could I not buy it? Too cute!
The pattern, McCall's 5615 is one that I've had in stash for quite a while (I think that I originally bought it for my middle DD). This year I'm really trying to use some of the many patterns that I've bought over the years and never used. This should be a perfect summer dress for Debra.
I cut out a size 3 with the only modification that I've made to the pattern is to make the skirt of the dress 6" longer than the pattern calls for. Debra's birthday is coming up soon and I'm very certain that she'll have a growth spurt about halfway through the summer. I want to make sure that she can wear this at least through the end of the summer! Plus, I just like longer dresses.
