Description

I started this for fun. I've discovered I really love improv and had a lot of leftover scraps from Freya's Quilt. I still have a lot of triangles left - looking forward to using them up in the future.

I'm making it for a college friends' baby on the way, it has paved the way for making a second quilt for her toddler as well - posted under Conor's Quilt. You can't leave one out!

I love the randomness of this. Did you just start cutting shapes and sewing or was there a diagram? I ask because I am such a control freak and would love to be more spontaneous.

This is wonderful! I love that you could use the strips in such a random way, yet have such a cohesive quilt.

Charwirfs Somehow I just saw your question. I'm so sorry! There was no diagram. I started with various sizes of leftovers from another quilt (Freya's Quilt) and just started laying them out and joining it together at random. I took a class which had an improv-pieced top as a section and that really got me over my fear of sewing without a plan. It's quite freeing once you bypass the fear! :)
