Description

Took my very first quilting class on Saturday with ConniHarns and had a great time. Okay, well almost. Enjoyed spending time with my quilting friend but things started out bad; left my glasses at home and believe me, I can't see anything without them but my wonderful husband brought them to me about an hour later. So sewing began and I kept going off center on one side and had to rip, rip and rip some more. GRRRRr. End of class, no large border and no binding,. Instructed explained that you have to fold the fabric at the points. Easier said then done, (for some of us). Anyways, after lots of ripping, help from Conni and deep breathing excerises, I finally got it done. And I must say, I love it! 'The fabric is Ruby by Bonnie and Camille, which I just love. So, just to make myself a little more crazy, I have decided to make another one because I want to figure out why I keep going off center in the first place and also to try those folds on points again. Thanks Conni for the great time and for the help.

Slicksister

Really nice job. Hooray for perseverance!!!

Kristananne

It turned out great! I am glad you love it and finished it even though you had some troubles. I usually get so mad at projects that don't go my way that I throw them across the room and try to forget about them. LOL

beadqueene

It turned out really nice. I love the gradient effect it has with the blue/grays at the ends :) The red border really makes the herringbone stand out!

Caribousmom

Even more gorgeous in person! Love it!

Hey Cathie...you go girl!! You are on the "Friday Highlight" feature!!! It was worth your headache trying to complete!! It's beautiful. Most important was sharing laughs the whole day with my quilting buddie.

Slicksister thank you

Quilt455

Kristananne thank you I have really never had so much problems with a project but I am glad that I finished it. Love how it looks on my table.

Quilt455

beadqueene I had to laugh when I read your post since the Instructor tried to talk me out of using red saying it would take away from the middle. I am so glad I went with my own thought (and my friend conniharns) and used red.

Caribousmom Thanks Miss Wendy. Can't wait to see what fabrics you pick when you make yours.

Quilt455

Conniharns I am alittle shocked that I made it for Friday Highlights. The best part of this whole thing was sharing the day with you and how you make me laugh even when I have to "unsew" something 14 times. It was a great time and hopefully we can do another one with Miss Wendy too.
I still do not see yours posted, Missy!!!!

Janquilter

Beautiful! I love that I saw this in progress! Glad you got it done. :)

Janquilter Thanks Jan; it was wonderful to meet you and now to be able to put a face with the name.
