Description

Inspired by Elizabeth Hartman's new wave quilt pattern, I added some sand to make it look more like a beach!
Any suggestions on what type of quilting would suit?
Also do you think a knife edge binding would work? I have never done one before but I cant imagine a normal binding looking right on this.

Update: went with a grey binding.. looks ok I think. Attempted sewing binding to back first then machine sewing down on front. Easy enough but I don't think I would do it that way again, doesn't look as good.

The graduating colours you have chosen - very much reflect the water and sand in the photo you took -a very clean fresh modern look. I can hardly wait to see your quilt when it's done.

Gorgeous colors...since I only do straight line quilting on larger quilts I would do something echoing lines in quilt. It does look like water and sand!

I wouldn't be able to stop myself from adding bubbles in the quilting. Can't wait to see it finished.

Beautiful!

Thanks! I will have to take some better photos once it is further along. I was thinking bubbles or circles, but might be beyond my skill level.

This definitely needs a beach house bed. Beautiful colors and interpretation! Love the modern crisp feel!

This is gorgeous...love the quilting! And I now do all my bindings on the machine. It took some practice to get it to point I liked it. For me the key was practice but also when I got my new machine ability to move the position of my needle by increments made all the difference. Anyway just love this quilt.
