Description

I know I shouldn't post this until +Thesewingchick gets this in the mail but I'm just so relieved it's over! I avoided trying this cute block because I'm just not a wonky person and was gun shy. And even though the tutorial is excellent I looked at it in a blur. Just goes to show  that when you've made up your mind it's going to be difficult you've created a huge wall to climb.I finally had to suck it up and tackle it because the deadline was looming, which is my usual tactic when I'm tackling something new. And lo and behold it became fun! "Surprise surprise!" she said in her Gomer Pyle voice. I had to laugh at my family as I was spread all over the kitchen table figuring out what fabric I was going to use. My future son-in-law piped up first telling me I didn't have straight lines, he is now educated on the world of wonky. Then it seems every other family member would come wandering in and said the same thing. Foolish ones!
I can't imagine making 20 of these for a quilt so I think Tess is genius for making it her Bee block. It's making me re-thing what block I'm going to choose for my month in August. Thanks goodness I have time! BY the time August rolls around everyone will be such accomplished sewists that I can choose a more difficult block. Hmmm, do I hear paper piecing?

True Thanks! I was having fun playing with my stash. If I had more time I would have embroidered little window panes and door molding. But I was just so anxious to get this finished and in the mail.

Whatthebobbin Thanks!! I'm enjoying all your projects you've been posting.

Love it!! Those are totally my colors and I love polka dots!! I am glad you enjoyed it eventually and I understand procrastinating when you don't know how to do something - I do the same. Funny about your families' comments that the lines weren't straight, so naive!! I am so excited to get the quilt put together!

Such a cute lil house!! Glad to hear you did enjoy it in the end. Wonky can be fun....once you learn to loosen the rules and let go a bit! :)

AllPatchedUp Thanks! You're asking a lot of me to loosen the rules and let go a bit.Not when I've been trying to learn how to sew straight!

IKR we go around trying to get everything precise and straight and perfect....then throw 'wonky' into the mix and BAM! it's all messed up.
