Description

Milky Way King Size Quilt
This started out as an orphan top, although I know the Oregon quilter who made it.  Mary Cadwallader loves to machine piece tops from her extensive fabric stash she has purchased over the years.  She is a precision piecer, often designing her own patterns from classic blocks and she appliques as well.  But she hates to finish her tops.  She sells them or gives them away.  This is one of her lovely tops.  I purchased it from her and got it prepared for quilting, sending it to Tracy Lovisone of Baker City, Oregon and asked her to custom quilt it.  I was more than happy with what she did it with it.  I finished the project off by binding it and adding a display sleeve and label to the back.  It was shown at an art gallery and two quilt shows.  Last month I showed it during a program I gave for The Comfort Quilters Guild in Tacoma/Puyallup, WA.  Yesterday I mailed it off to it's new owner, Wren, in Aurora, CO.

Absolutely beautiful! I love the collaborative idea- makes it very special to think of the hands that went into it- one very happy owner I'm sure:))))
