This is a $5.00 BOM that my LQS is having. It costs just $5 for the entire year! Each month you have to bring in your completed block from the previous month in order to get the materials and instructions for the month free. If you miss a class, it's just $5 to begin again. Pretty interesting idea, isn't it?
The blocks feature using Thangles to make the HST (half square triangles) points of the leaves. They are useful and accurate, but I prefer rotary cutting according to the measurements rather than paper piecing the HST.
I chose the "modern" colorway instead of the pink colorway and love the fabrics we are given. To make the quilt, I should be making more blocks than just the one each month. Instead, I'm going to make the blocks and decide later how to put them together. Maybe a tablerunner? I don't know.
I added a photo of the pink quilt finished. It looks really good and gave me inspiration to finish my blocks.
I finished the top! I sashed it in a dark brown, then used a thin white inner border and a wider dark brown border. I'll quilt it one of these days when I learn how to use my embroidery machine better.
