Description

I recently found out my friend is 12 weeks pregnant. It's early, I know!  I'm also in the midst of trying to pack and move. So in the interest of time I whipped up this quick little car/travel quilt for her because I probably won't see her as much and who knows how long before my sewing space gets unpacked (when I have the whole rest of the house to do).  Anyway, it was a joy to use up some of those triangle scraps that have been lying around.  Mindless sewing is delightful. I also had some scrap binding I'd made previously on hand which made this quilt come together in just a day or two. I hope she likes it!

Bubbers test driving the new quilt. It's a winner!
basted and ready to quilt.
Trying to decide on a layout. I went with the little kite tails over the diamonds.

This is really cute!

I've started putting my triangle scraps in a jar to make one one of these, I think they are really fun! I like your kite layout. Adorable baby too!

Good call going with the kite layout! A sweet little quilt for the baby to be. I can't believe you still found the time to do it in the middle of packing/moving madness. Good luck and I hope you are able to unpack your sewing room sooner than later.

SO how is this constructed?

Oh my.. this would be perfect for the whirligig remnants I have from another project...and will be building up more with a repeat of it!

The quilt is almost as adorable as the little one peeking out from beneath it! ;) It's beautiful Jennifleur .
I hope the move and unpacking goes smoothly. My advice: pack an "I'm gonna go crazy" box...fill it with the absolute essentials you need to sew: needles, scissors, cutter and small mat, ruler, etc and some fabric and threads, whatever else you need or can fit! Mark that box well to keep track of during the move along with your machine (of course). That way even if you aren't able to unpack your sewing room right away, you can at least set up your machine and open that box to get a little time to destress...err, sew! Helps you stay sane during a move. :)

Love it...really lovely...best wishes on the move

Cute quilt, cute model. Love to see those "waste" triangles used.

I love this quilt! And the Baby is beautiful! Can the triangles be any size or did you stick to precise sizes? It's brilliant.

Jennifleur

ellaandnesta , all the triangles were random sizes I used from my scrap bin. They're just cast offs of other blocks I'd made. I love a good scrappy quilt!

Jennifleur I really have to try this because yours is fabulous!
