Buttercup Bag Pattern / Tutorial
Fabric Flower Tutorial
I really like the addition of the piping and the origami fabric flower! I'll definitely be bookmarking the flower tutorial - that's a great little embellishment piece.
The flower was pretty easy to do but I found ironing the first two or three folds really helped hold it all together as I went. Also be sure to run the needle through the upper part of the petals and again around the bottom as you attach them together. It gives it a lot more strength I noticed. (The tutorial didn't really mention that bit - live and learn!)
Thanks for the extra tips.
I thought this looked like the Buttercup Bag... I downloaded the pattern a while ago but have yet to make it. Yours turned out great. I love the flower.
Super cute! I've been thinking about making this for awhile, but haven't gotten to it. What a good idea to attach the handle like that... gives it a much cleaner look.
This is so adorable...love the detail and color.
Thanks everyone for the kind words! =)
This is really cute! I love the colors and the flower is perfect!
LOVE the bag...beautiful SPRING color choice! Thanks for sharing the tutorial for the flower!
I just downloaded the pattern today. I love your choice of colors.
I love this bag! I made it, but only used one fabric. Next time, I'm going to use 2 like yours, I really like how that looks.
Cathyj - I did a Google image search for Buttercup bag before I went and bought fabric. I decided all the bags I liked best had a solid strap and top and a pattern on the bottom. Of course the fabrics I chose were my own version of what I liked best for my idea of the bag but it was nice to be inspired by others. Glad I could do the same for you. =D
I finally got around to making this bag after seeing yours. I shrank the pattern with a copier to 75% and made it for my granddaughter. I used 3 colors and it was adorable. I was surprised at how fast it went together.
Ruth - that's awesome. I bet she loved it! I hope you got some pictures to share.
I absolutly love it! You did a great job! I have downloaded this pattern but have not made it yet!
Ruth, I'd love to see what you did with this bag! My daughter has been begging me to make her one too but in hot pink and black (she's six). It does come together really quickly. I'm definitely planning on making more.
