Description

I bought 2 packs of Chicopee charms in a sale, they were 6x6 inches and I wasn't quite sure what to do with them until I found this pattern. I decided to use a variety of greys for the plain colour and used the same selection as found in the Kona Silent Cinema pack.

My brain was obviously elsewhere as I had assumed I would get one block from each charm when really it needed two for each so it was going to come out a lot smaller than I wanted it to. Enter sashing which will be done using the black Line Dot print. The backing is going to be the fuscia Line Dot and the binding the grey plaid.

At the moment the blocks are waiting to be trimmed and sashed but the batting is on back order for 1-2 weeks so I have some time. I can't figure out how to quilt this so any ideas would be appreciated (I'm a beginner!). I have bought the grey-black variegated Aurifil thread to use on it.

I quilted around the whirlygigs and then stippled the sashing. Happy with how it turned out!

This looks great! Really fun colors and like the use of the greys!

Laweigel thank you! I probably should have planned which colour prints to use with each grey as it would have made figuring out the layout easier but got there in the end!

What a wonderful quilt! Personally I quilt for pleasure and this is a pattern I have used as it gives you a chance to play with fabric and does not require meticulous pattern matching. The color choice is very modern - enjoy it!

Sbbquilter thank you! I will get some finished pictures up as soon as it's dry but I'm very happy with the way the greys work with the Chicopee.
