Description

My youngest sister is graduating from high school in May, so I wanted to make her a fun and youthful quilt. I had a FQ stack of Power Pop by Jenean Morrison which made me think of her. So fun and colorful and modern! For some reason the fabric inspired me to do something with circles. I finally decided to make rings of various diameters, scattered randomly against a blue background (her favorite color). I had exactly 20 different fabrics in my stack, and a Dresden plate has exactly 20 "petals"... coincidence? I made six Dresden plates (without points) then cut the plates into three rings each. Scattered the rings among a queen sized blue background, temporarily ironed them with fusible web, and then zigzag appliqu├ęd them to the background. Ill post a picture ASAP.

Mouseinmypocket Thanks!

I can't wait to see how you quilt it.

Mouseinmypocket That will be an adventure! I'm quilting it on the long-arm at my local shop. I will actually be quilting it during my first lesson so we will see how that goes. I was thinking of doing circles or swirls, but those may be too hard for my first time on the long-arm. I'll see what the teacher recommends.
