Description

I did this fabric clothesline bowl in a class. It was a little challenging because the fabric is wrapped around the clothesline right-handed, and I am left-handed. I used a red and purple batik from my stash.

This is Amazing. I love it! I kind of reminds me of the sweetwater baskets I used to watch them weave in Charleston SC. I love the colors also, it gave it a great mottled look. Great job on this!

It's so perfectly formed....was this hard?

Capetowngirl

This is stunning. What needle did you use in your machine?

Rebecca

Very cool!

I have always loved these and so want to make one someday...yes is it hard and needle used? or other tips? Gorgeous!

Very, very nice! I'd love to take a class in this type of bowl making!

True This was not that hard to make actually. I probably wouldn't have tried it without a class though. We used the book "Sewing Pottery by Machine" by Barbara Warholic. She recommends using size 80/12 or 90/14 (standard sizes). There was an intermediate class, but I didn't take it. I have so many other quilting and sewing projects lined up I just couldn't see myself continuing with this. I appreciate all the lovely comments. Thank you all.

I love making these bowls, I have made dozens. There is no reason that you can't wrap the fabric left handed. Try it and see if you have better success.
