Description

I've been interested in Free Motion Quilting for quite awhile but always held back because I don't have a long arm and... I lacked confidence.

It's only been recently that I started to practise. This isn't a "project" per se as I don't anticipate it will have a beginning or end... it's just some pics of my FMQ doodles... the good the bad and the ugly!

I'm mostly using muslin sandwiches.

May 2013 - I've started to try my hand at combining patterns and variegated coloured threads.

PS -I love listening to jazz while I do the "FMQ"

True Readerowl Skynme Carolmarie - many thanks! Some of them definitely are better than others - but that's the way everything goes : )

How fun!

I too am interested in FMQ...but have held back. The few times I have tried it I have decided I want to go too fast. This is a great idea...I need to do this on scraps or fabric I no longer love for practice. Great job!!

Sewbusy64 Thank you! Doing samples has helped me gain confidence and if I screw up... no sweat : )

Emedoodle Thanks!

Wish my doodles looked that good! I have a quilt top that I created years ago that I have yet to quilt because I'm afraid to ruin it with my quilting. sweat

Lisa_Marie Well bear in mind I'm just doodling on muslin squares at present - but hopefully my confidence will continue grow the more I practise : )
