Description

This is the first quilt I'm making for myself using my hoarded text prints and other fabrics that make me happy.

4/26/13: Finished adding the red corners to five more sets of text prints and started cutting a few fabrics for the Plus sections. Still haven't figured out what to do about the outside squares. My instinct is to do a variety of grey prints, or do a single grey print (maybe a chevron), or do it completely scrappy using some of the other fabrics I love.

10/13/13: Have cut 53 of the 56 sets of grey squares for the outside of the plus sections. Remaining fabrics are waiting. I also have 6 blocks put together. Next step: finish cutting the last 3 greys and start tackling the mountain of fabric for the plus sections.

Looks like a few of your favorite things. I looked it all over and found a few of mine too. This will look great and you will enjoy every minute.

True

Love the idea of using text prints for the X's. You have quite the collection! But why are you calling it Japanese? I'm a little dense this morning, okay every morning, so it's probably something obvious!

I had no idea there were that many text prints out there. This is a great way to showcase them. I love the red!

Mary

I love text prints...what a great way to use them!

Terryt1955 Because the block was made popular by a Japanese quilter and all the tutorials I have seen online call it a Japanese X and + Block.
