Description

This blue, yellow and white quilt was many years in the making!  When my daughter was 11 we picked out the fabric for her quilt, many moves (which included Argentina, Namibia, Mozambique, Malaysia and some others) her quilt was finally finished in 2011:calendar::laughing:.  Many years passed and I admit I was surprised she still wanted the same fabric we had selected so many years ago.  The twisted ribbon pattern went together very easily, I was pleased with effect and the calm beauty of the colours.  I did add some newer fabrics for the border and found a wonderful light blue toile for the back.  I had the quilt machine quilted and was thrilled to finally finish the binding and give it to her to enjoy.

Such a great story and so proud of you for finishing this! I think it has a delicate look, like fine china. It really isn't at all dated.

Charwirfs Thank you! I was pleased and surprised that it turned out so well. Jenny loves it and in the end, that is all that really matters.

Truly gorgeous and timeless! Great story and wow you have lived in some incredible places!

A treasure that she will keep forever. And now that she's older she probably appreciates it more than if you gave it to her when she was 11. So there's a reason for not having finished it right away! I agree, it looks timeless and beautiful and more importantly made by mama's love.
