Going Home Onesie for A.S. by Speattle
At my daughter's baby shower last week, her BFF had the guests decorate onesies with fabric pens. It was a cute and fun shower activity and the little garments are always practical and appreciated. My sewing skills are better than my drawing skills, so I saved one to embellish later on at home. My daughter wanted me to do a special one that the baby could wear home from the hospital after she is born in the next few weeks.
I thought about what I was going to do, and today got to it.
So here is a sweet little stylized bunny, cut from fabric used in my daughter's wedding gown. The little pink flower is one left from a dress I made for the baby's big sister when she was a baby. The tail is just something that was in my stash of random bits of things.
I free-hand appliqued this with my sewing machine. This is not machine embroidery, but a satin stitch that I carefully guided along as my machine stitched.
I'm really happy with how it turned out. ♥
