The charm pack of Comma that I bought in Portland was calling to me from the shelf when I saw a class offered at The Quilt Barn in Kimberly, Idaho that used a Comma charm pack and a Lil twister tool. I couldn't get to the class but determined to make the mini quilt anyway. I shamelessly copied their exact layout.
Backed in black and white houses from Summersville.
Quilted around the edges of 1/3 of the pinwheels.
Binding in the background gray.
Love the colors!
I also love the colors...great quilt
Cute! I think I need one of these twister tools.
This is super cute. I have a comma charm pack setting around at my house too.
How I wish Comma was out when I was making my daughter's yellow and gray quilt. Love these colors together! What will you do with this? Wall hanging or a center block for a future medallion?
Very striking, I really like it. My sister offered to get me the comma charm pack, but I passed on it, but now I see yours I wish I had accepted it!
I like the colors you choose. It is super cute!
Love this! Especially the colors.
Thanks all! Terryt1955 . I intended it to hang on the wall in my gray and yellow sewing room. I have not put in hanging corners yet. I started on the binding and realized I wanted to include a hanging option.
I have GOT to see pictures of your sewing room!
Love this finish!
Super super great- you may have just sold a bunch of twister tools for the company just by posting this!- they should feature your quilt in an ad or something:)))-love it!
I have to comment....just as I was admiring this, my phone rang. It was the fabric shop telling me my twister tool and mini quilt pattern were in. I saw a sample in that shop several weeks ago and they were out. So, guess I better go get it and have some fun. Love your color choice on this one!
I have had a twister tool for six months and haven't touched it. It looks so involved, all that sewing blocks, cutting blocks, sewing back into the right design. I'm getting very excited about the different twister quilts I have seen lately, though. Maybe it's time I got "caught up in the whirlwind". Lovely yellow, grey, white!
I, too, have been meaning to do a twister quilt. I found a book at a garage sale of twister projects, but I don't have the template yet. Soon, very soon. I love your colors.
I've made two of them and they look great but you're basically making the quilt twice. I do love the look of them though and felt the two I made were worth the effort since its not complicated piecing
