Great blocks! I love the multi fabric in True's. And, Rebecca, where did you get windmill fabric? Very cute! Margaret, is the background fabric in both of those white? Should we stick with that?
This is going to be an amazing quilt! Cannot wait to see rest...
Chrissybugs Actually the background fabrics are cream- very old world looking, but if blocks come in with white that's fine too - I'm thinking of a non symmetrical placement with some other fabric for sashing so everything is very flexible:)
True Thanks- yes it's getting so exciting now that the blocks are coming in...I want to do a placement that sort of looks like an old travel album- you know the kind with little photo tabs in the corners...so I may set some of the blocks at and angle and sash some of them larger too...it's all a mish mash in the mind's eye right now:)
Oh my goodness what awesome new blocks amazing!
Wow, the Celtic block is amazing! Is it one continuous bias strip appliqued on?
super fun blocks!
OMG what a cute Rome block!!!
True Isn't it great- I think we need to take a trip to Marsha's and she could do a workshop for us in landscape quilting:)....if we all showed up on her doorstep would she let us in?
blocks are looking fantastic. this is going to be a lovely quilt. such a wonderful idea
Quilterinmotion True will host:))- or maybe you could just do a travelin' seminar;))) - or hey how about a web seminar- post it on youtube?
Capetowngirl Thanks- they really are...I am excited to see the rest of them, and hope to be able to put it all together this summer when school is done :)
Quilterinmotion well we can dream can't we- I have a large sunroom that would be perfect for a sewing party- now don't you ladies feel the need to visit Baltimore??? I mean...it is Charm City after all;)))))
Mymble , Baltimore, oh my! I've been there a few times for a convention. Lovely place; enjoy the waterfront so much! I'd love to come!
Quilterinmotion Just give me enough heads up to vacuum and of course lay in a supply of chocolate:)...of course
+Mymbles, dark chocolate please.....
+Mymbles, your blocks are looking great! Is your mind spinning as you try to think about how you will lay the quilt out? It's going to fun to see what you do with your Grand Tour.
Quilterinmotion Oh you bet...A few more blocks are coming in and then I will have a mulling and thinking session...any ideas are gladly welcomed:)- I think I want to do a sort of angled, photo album look but I really don't know how that will work- so it's going to be a long think;))))
I saw your idea of that mentioned earlier. I think it would be a unique way to do them. Try drawing it out on paper and see what you think....or use that design tool available here on Threadbias. I draw things out as I'm more of a hands-on and I love to draw anyway.
Isn't it- she really had her machine stoked;))))- so much fun!
Laweigel Lori at this point I may never let this quilt out of my sight- I'll just carry it around with me like Linus:)))
Awesome new blocks...going to be amazing!

Great minds;)))_ I actually have the townhouses print and have been drooling over the map of Italy- may splurge on a wee bit;)))
The block is reverse raw edge applique- so cool- and works perfectly with the subject matter- the whole block has a very organic feel apropos to an archeological site!!
