Description

If you take my husband into a fabric store, he goes straight for the batiks, so the last road trip, I ended up with a new project and couldn't wait to play with the pattern and fabrics.  Fractured is a pattern in Brenda Henning's strip Therapy 8.  I was only going to make a handful of 1/4 blocks to see how they looked, but they are so addictive, I can't stop. We picked the Wildberry Bali Pop for the strips, and the background batik is K2436-153 Tea Rose Herringbone.  Several other batiks from quilt shops along our way will be added in.

Beautiful so far! I can't wait to see it finished. I wish my hubby showed an inkling of interest at the fabric store. He prefers to wait in the car. lol

Really pretty colors and perfect for batiks...I love that your husband likes them...

This is great! I also love batiks, and I'm currently doing a quilt like this with my Newbie Quilters bee that includes a little of both. Can't wait to see yours all finished. Have you started thinking about quilting yet?

Readerowl

Juline I really have not thought about the quilting yet - any ideas?

Off the top of my head, maybe spiraled circles within each square block? Since it's sort of a wonky-type block, I think organic, free-flowing circles would look good. Like this:

Juline - I can see that being a great choice! I'll have to practice spirals on a smaller project and see how I do. Thanks!

Great pattern. I really like the positive/negative blocks. It will be stunning when complete.
