Architecture in Flight is what I'm calling my Aeroplane Bag by Sew Sweetness
. I'm making the long version of the bag, as I hope to use it as a way to carry my sewing machine if and when I get around to taking some sewing classes.
For the exterior of the bag, I'm using the Architextures navy text print by Carolyn Friedlander for Robert Kaufman paired with a white vinyl (faux leather). The interior of the bag will be lined in the turquoise keyboard print from Type by Julia Rothman for Windham Fabrics. The interior pockets will be lined in the same navy Architextures print as the exterior with navy zippers.
Got the exterior of my bag done, but because my interior print is also directional, I ended up being a couple inches shy to cut out my second piece of interior fabric.
Since I was shy of the interior fabric I had originally planned to use, I decided to go with a Timeless Treasures Tonga batik in navy and white. The colors match pretty perfectly, but it doesn't have as much contrast as my original fabric choice. I've finished attaching the first side of the bag to the zipper.
The bag is finished! It's going to be great for carrying around all of my stinky workout clothes.
