Description

This month our Pretty in Patchwork Holidays group is making Drawstring Gift Bags. My grandson is now obsessed with "choo choo" trains so I had to make him a bag to put them all into for traveling around.

I used some wonderful Japanese fabric called Trefle by Kokka with cute trains on linen. I used "Scoot" by Riley Blake for my patchwork and lining. Taking some bias tape I had and didn't used for another project I decided to finish off the edges with a decorative stitch. I then sewed the ends together so that Mommy and Daddy don't have to keep rethreading it when Cameron explores how to pull the ties out !

I altered the pattern a bit by adding some text fabric that has "Choo Choo" and then added Cameron's Name.  Now that I'm done, I just have to go find some fun things to buy and fill up the bag before I mail it off!

Update: Cameron called me on FaceTime to thank me for his bag! He sang me a Thank you Nana song along with his guitar. Mommy and Daddy are happy all the trains now have a place to sleep once in a while.

Kathy, this is just too cute. My grandson would just love it. I love trains since my Dad worked for the railroad for 50 yrs. Great bag.
