Love the little sea turtles cant wait to see how it turns out
Thanks- they are even more beautiful in person- hope everyone has fun with it!
Love how the fabrics work to create a magical undersea vista for the cute little turtle
Love this one too that turtle is amazing.
Very nice. I even see some pink in the turtle. Can't wait!
True Thanks- I do love those turtles and it was tough to decide whether to use the turtle for the Round and Round robin or for this one- but I decided that since the Improvi robin is more...well..improvisational;)- then all the colors in the turtle would be a good launch.
Your block reminds me of the 6 weeks I got to spend in Hawai'i. We saw so many turtles!! Great center!
So many ways to go with this one- and Improvirobin guidelines being a bit more free flowing than a regular robin- well anything goes- think it needs some serious mulling because I have too many ideas right now- will let them bump around and shake down;))))
I see what you mean about so many decisions on which way to go! I like the idea of the off center idea or at least what I think what you mean by off center.I'll be looking forward to what you decide!
Designing is such fun in round robins. I did one that was as free as yours, and it was great. I've also done one where the only direction was how many fabrics to send along (for continuity--we could also add our own) and what size border to make. It will be fun to keep up with progress and results here.
I am so enjoying the progress of these blocks. I love your additions and Christine's block is great.
Thanks- it felt risky ( LOL) to me to do something not traditionally square but once I looked over all the Improvi Robin sample blocks on Flickr and saw the direction they were going I thought- why not- and it just seemed to fit- I'll be really interested to see how Patty builds upon the "farm" :)))
Love that you have added!
I love my barn!!! Never even thought of that! Thanks, Margaret.
Chrissybugs So glad you like it Christine!- trying to think outside the box wound me up in the field with a barn and a tractor et al...this Improvi Robin is really a good way to stretch my thinking and learn to take chances! The only bad part if the nerves... hoping you would like it:)
These are turning out so cool. I signed up for the next round. Looking forward to getting going on it. I am finishing up another RR this month and we have kept our rounds secret. Can't wait to see how mine looks when we meet later this month.
Charwirfs Great- the new group is super- you will have a blast! And I'll be on the lookout for when you are able to share the pics from your other RR!
Wow Mymble, you really commented fast. Thanks! How soon will the new group get going?
HawkFan is your group's moderator- so you should check with her- I think she has some posts up in the Improvi Robin on the Home page- so if you troll through her posts there should be some details there, and if I remember correctly a number of the group's members are traveling this week so if you don't hear back right away, not to fret, that is more than likely the reason:) but my understanding is the group is starting failry soon:) - hope that helps!
HawkFan Same group but confirmations closed Aug. 8th- (post #14 listed all interested parties and notified them) so if someone didn't confirm by then, they are in the next pool to form a group- which will mean we will have three groups- woo hoo! Charwirfs if this is you then you are actually the beginning of the third group- and judging by the interest- your group should fill up soon too! So excited to see all the Improvi activity!
Mymble, Nicole added a round before I added to one side. (I think, check the book Rebecca sent with it.)
My cauldron is brewing as we speak...ideas are swirling around...hoping to work some Improvi magic real soon;)))
Both look great. You did such a nice job in keeping some of the elements of the original. Magic is right!
HawkFan Thanks- had to let it brew for a bit- but after I did some stash digging I found the right ingredients- it's really frightening what I find at the back of the shelf- think I need to do some serious stash organizing;))))
Both are fabulous! My turn!!! Yay!!
Thanks Patty- I know you will do something awesome with them:)
LOVE them...wow you really made these work:-)
Thanks Nicole! Glad you like them :)
I love the rainbow arrows. They really bring out the colors of the original center and draw the eye back there. Wow
Thanks- that was basically what I was trying to do- this one took a lot of thinking cap energy because at first I was really stumped;)))- love the round robin for stretching my eye and my skills:)
Love what you added and you clearly achieved your goal!
Rainbow chevrons! Great add.
Mymble - that's why I signed up for a round robin too - to stretch myself and it has been a stretch (but a fun one so far). You've done great things on all of yours
So cool, the rainbow arrows! This is looking so pretty!
