Description

In September 2011, I took a Pet Portrait's workshop with Aniko Feher - http://www.quiltsbyaniko.com/qba/home.html.  During that day, we transformed a picture to a pattern to a fabric creation.

Dash is "finished" and waiting to be added to an appropriate background. I think I want a mini-quilt under his legs rather than my jeans. I haven't decided what to put behind him yet. I'm also planning to do some thread sketching to add in his whiskers and fluff up his coat a bit.

The full story of this workshop is here on my blog: A Whole New World of Quilting For Me Opened Today. This was my first experience with fusible applique.

Put him in the trophy case, both Dash and the quilt top are champions! He has such creamy whites that you can go with any light, medium, or dark background. It can be a neutral or a color. I think your choices are wide open as he will "pop" nicely.

Thanks! Dash is actually an AKC Champion - CH Carterhall Commander 'N Chief RN CGC. I'm having fun with his quilt. The picture the quilt is based on was taken just after he turned 1. The photo I used for color reference, just after he turned 2 - a week after he completed his Championship. He will be 8 in July.
