Allyson's Chevron Quilt by Jessicalam
I haven't quilted since December or January and the year is flying by! In early February I found out I am pregnant with our first little one and it's been quite the roller coaster. I just haven't had the patience to sit and quilt, though I really want to!
I wanted to create a chevron or herringbone pattern using bright fabrics. I'm using the My Song Quilt Tutorial
. This quilt is exactly what I had in my mind!
I knew this tutorial used yardage when I bought it, but I figured for the price it wouldn't hurt to see how hers is constructed. I plan to modify it so I can use jelly rolls.
I just really don't want to cut from yardage!

The fabric I've been waiting for has finally come in so I just placed my order!

So far so good! I have assembled 4 columns. As careful as I was when sewing, I still managed to mess some up. I was able to go back and re-sew some problem areas to make them match a bit better. To my surprise, the chevrons are *almost* matching up. I sewed 1.125" wide white sashing between the first two columns. It was harder to line those chevrons than I expected. Overall this has been a fast quilt. Brainstorming ideas for the border now.
