Description

When I saw this pattern displayed here at Threadbias, I knew I had to make it. It took a while for me to find a charm pack that I felt would do it justice. I bought "Independence Trail" by polly Minick and Lauri Simpson for Moda. I found a solid that complimented it, but have no idea what it is called. I love these colors and look forward to hanging it on my wall. Perhaps my local machine quilter can come use my machine and quilt it, +Amanda. :)

Beautiful choice of fabric for this great star!

Terryt1955 and Carolmarie thank you! I too love the colors. We are remodeling and the great room will be shades of blue and red with taupe accents. This will look great in there!

Carolmarie What a cool idea! It would depend on the size of the panes, of course, but I can see putting a little quilt in each one. A one block little quilt. Would 6-inch blocks work? Are you thinking the blocks would hang between the glass and the wall? Almost like a frame. Sounds delightful!

Janquilter

Carolmarie I think I would make little quilts out of 2 6 inch blocks. That would fill the space. I would not put a backing on the frame at all...just let the paint color of the room show through. Or you could make some of them bigger or smaller...like use 3 inch blocks set 3x6 which would maake it 6 inx 9 in when done. You could use clear nylon thread to hang them from hidden tacks which would make them seem like they are floating. Each little quilt could be unique.

Carolmarie OMG I love this idea...I think I have an old window still in my garage (I used another in one of my bathroom decorated with shells, etc.). I am going to look when I get home as this could be so cool!

Janquilter love this idea...

Carolmarie Heh...just read one of those ideas...haha...the 3 in blocks should be set 2 x 3...that would equal 6 inches by 9 inches. I see these little quilts as different sizes and different, but coordinating fabrics.
