Description

Love my copy of Liberty Love. And loved the 16 patch baby quilt for its simplicity. I wanted to do something a bit different with the plain blocks, so used an old candlewick quilt I purchased 2nd hand. Love, love, love it. Now just need to find the perfect backing.

Oh the texture that candlewick quilt has lent to your quilt is wonderful! Just the right touch to make it different!

True

what an awesome idea to use the old candlewick quilt! Love it.

The candlewick texture is quite interesting. I really like your color choices for your 16 patch as well.

Sewhappy

Very pretty and looks so cozy and cuddly.

Terryt1955 I nearly didn't go with the candlewick - had major 2nd thoughts. So pleased I went with my initial plan. Thank you.

True thanks - I just love the result.

Sewhappy I thought the same once it was finished, so now I'm leaning towards buying a wool blanket to back it with. Initially thinking minky, but wool is calling my name (plus wool is my 2nd love to fabric). Thank you.

corginole I used a jelly roll of 1930's reproduction I found at a quilt shop here in New Zealand. It's called Grandmothers Garden. Not normally my choice of fabric - but the colors are really great together. Thank you.
