Description

I started sewing my collection of Liberty Tana Lawn 2.5" squares and just kept adding until I had a large block. I found Medieval Checkerboard fabric online- talk about a search, and now the top is done. I backed the top with wool batting and hand quilted through the centers of the blocks vertically and horizontally.

Next is the back- probably a mix of some Cream Bella, the checkerboard and a Mother Goose patch or embroidery.

I call it the Mother Goose Pillow because the checkerboard around the florals reminded me of the Mother Goose Book I read to the children growing up.

Clairealex

I'm glad you explained the title; I must have read a different book. :-)

Clairealex Ha Ha- well I guess there are a lot of published version of Mother Goose- ours had the checkerboard cover.

True Thanks! Yes- big- checkerboard cover- can see it now-funny how one thing can inspire another and then you just have to go with it:)))

Sewzalot

Mymble-I love the checkerboard fabric! I am currently working on a nursery rhyme/vintage style quilt, and a checkerboard fabric is exactly what I'm going to need for my outside border. Most of the fun of quilting for me-is in the hunt for the perfect fabric!

Sewzalot oh how great...I have a nursery rhyme quilt in the works as well..top is pieced and have been thinking of the checkerboard as binding...not sure though...but I do love the fabric...looking forward to seeing yours:)
