Description

My first ever quilt. I've had a jelly roll of Butterscotch & Roses sitting in my craft room for a couple of years that I purchased with the intention of making into a quilt but never got around to. I stumbled on the Scrappy Trip Along craze around Christmas time and decided to go for it. I supplemented the jelly roll with extra strips to make a bigger quilt. The top is a little wonky as I was still mastering the scant 1/4" seam at the beginning, but it's just for me, so I don't really care. This is still in the work-in-progress pile as crazy me decided to make a postage stamp back out of the scraps and it is taking me forever!

1/31/15: Finished! This has been sitting on my UFO pile for over 2 years because I had no idea how to quilt such a large quilt. I got a Brother pq1500s a few months ago, which has a nice large throat space, and have been working on my UFO pile ever since. This one was FMQ'ed with an all over tight swirl design. Some of my seams were a little smaller than they should be (1st ever quilt top afterall) so I'm hoping the close quilting will help to hold everything together.

My mother has been drooling over this quilt since it has all her favorite colors, so I gave it to her as a late Christmas gift. She squealed when she opened it! :) I'll admit I had a hard time letting it go so I might have to make a similar one for myself!

I love the border...what a great idea. I too am making one of these...but with no border. I really like how yours turned out!

Love the colors you picked. I will be making a scrappy trip around the world block this weekend for my hive member. Hope mine looks as great as yours.

Carolmarie Thanks! I'm really happy with it. I used the scrappy trip along tutorial over on quiltville. I've added the link to it.
