Description

I've renamed this one "Kitchen Sink Strings" as it literally has a little bit of everything but the kitchen sink in it (including a piece of the fabric I used 22 years ago to make my daughter's crib layette!).  I think I had a bunch of leftover short strings from other projects and decided to make some 7.5" blocks.  I made 10 more blocks earlier this month and now it is ready to be sandwiched with some polar fleece for one step batting/backing.

I love the scrappiness in fabric and strip width of this version. I also saw one that had green and black strip in the middle of all the scrappy blocks. I am torn if I want to be completely scrappy or have some consistency between the blocks. You just made this decision a little harder.

Drnic2c I've done that style too and I think they both are really pretty! I think I was trying to use up some short strings when I started this set.

I saw one of these with a white 1" strip up the middle, which I loved. But seeing this one that is totally scappy has me torn between the two. Gorgeous quilt. Did you use paper or fabric for the blocks?

Capetowngirl Thank you! Mine are on cheapo muslin for backing. This one is kind of rare for me... usually I have a center strip to tie the blocks together but I do like the total scrappy look of this one too. It's hard to mess up a string quilt in my opinion!
